Cost Accountant - Tilray Beverages role at Tilray Brands, Inc.

Base Pay Range$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Job SummaryTilray's Beer Division is looking for a Cost Accountant to join the beverage finance team. This role reports to the Controller and supports the Operations team, which manages six beer production facilities located throughout the U.S. The Cost Accountant will play an integral role in assisting with the overall efficient operations of the finance department. Responsibilities include coordinating weekly and monthly reporting, overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing periodic reports.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Assist in the computation of annual overhead rates for budgeting purposes.
- Validate the computation and components of how costs are created.
- Develop computation methodology for monitoring cost variances (labor, material, etc.).
- Drive the analysis of all cost variances.
- Provide insights into issues and opportunities identified from variance analysis.
- Create KPIs that management can use to assess and optimize performance.
- Assist the Accounting department in recording monthly variances, including the preparation of journal entries and inventory account reconciliations for periodic closing.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for review with management.
- Respond to audit inquiries.
- Develop and maintain all internal controls to comply with SOX and ensure adherence to all controls.
- Minimum of 2 years as a Cost Accountant or related position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or in the final stages of the program is an asset.
- Experience with SAP accounting software preferred.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.
