• Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Performs further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Perform oil changes to manufacturer specifications.
• Top off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.
• Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.
• Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
• Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.
• Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
• Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehicles' issues.
• Creating detailed service reports based on inspection findings and document them for customer review.
• Verify completed maintenance and/or repairs prior to releasing the vehicle to the customer.
• Complete continuing education program as directed by the company.
• Maintains compliance with all OSHA safety standards and procedures.
• Model and demonstrate Clear Shift Core Values in all aspects of the role.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• At least two years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
• ASE certification a plus
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Team-oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Computer and smartphone skills.

Upon acceptance of an offer, Clear Shift does complete background and motor vehicle record checks on all new hires. All accepted offers are contingent on successful completion of the checks and prior offenses can impact employment based on the severity and/or nature of the offense. If an offense found on the reports is in violation of the Clear Shift policies, the new hire will receive an adverse action letter with options for next steps.
