Job Description

Protecting what matters most is the mission that matters most. Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more — we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future.

At Lockheed Martin Space we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. We’re creating future‑ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security® vision. We’re erasing boundaries and forming partnerships across industries and around the world, advancing spacecraft and the workforce to fuel the next generation, and reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.

The Integrated Space Effects (ISE) team is searching for an Operations Analyst or Engineer with experience in multi‑domain (e.g. space, air, terrestrial) mission modeling, modeling & simulation (M&S), and data analysis. ISE conducts operations analysis (OA). As a member of this team you will provide data‑driven insights to several groups across multiple Lines of Business within LM Space & across the LM enterprise, helping shape their strategies to meet customer needs.

Supported projects vary across a program’s lifecycle but often support early‑phase concept development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply modeling and simulation (M&S) expertise to support the analysis of complex space‑based systems and missions.
  • Create and maintain physics‑based models of government & other systems, leveraging domain expertise and engineering judgment to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify analysis needs, develop solutions, and deliver results to stakeholders and customers.
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences through clear and effective briefings and presentations.
  • Translate customer questions into meaningful studies, and develop advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) methods to enable analyses that support requirements definition, system‑of‑system evaluation, interoperability in joint environments, and utility assessments of advanced technology and concepts.
  • Integrate modeling and simulation capabilities into larger system‑of‑systems environments to support the analysis of complex mission scenarios.
  • Drive project success through effective time management, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with teammates, with a focus on delivering capabilities that inform decision‑making.

Successful candidates in this position generally have 5‑9 years of professional experience.

Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Multi‑domain kill chain, ISR, and/or space security analysis experience
  • Strong math, physics, and statistics background
  • Demonstrated experience in orbit mechanics, remote sensing phenomonologies, or space system environment characteristics (e.g. radiation, thermal, power, communications)
  • Demonstrated experience working with information across multiple security levels, including SCI and Special Access Program(s) (SAP)
  • Demonstrated experience working with defense and threat information and/or models
  • Significant involvement in authoring final deliverables documenting analysis methodology, assumptions, and conclusions
  • Experience with applying data science and/or machine learning techniques within analysis to drive more comprehensive results
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully between multiple…
