Contractor – Test Engineering Technician Level II
Position:
Contractor – Test Engineering Technician Level II at our facility in Littleton, CO. Duration: up to 6 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full‑time employee.
Location:
Littleton, CO. The role supports Redwire Space Components in developing high‑reliability technologies for NASA, the Department of Defense, and commercial space companies.
$26.00–$34.00 per hour
Responsibilities- Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms (static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, vibration).
- Operate spaceflight hardware and test fixtures using data acquisition systems and established procedures.
- Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical components after test completion.
- Perform maintenance on test fixtures.
- Generate ideas for potential process improvements.
- Assist with non‑conformance investigations.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace assembly and inspection tools (torque wrenches, load cells, feeler gauges, calipers, multimeters).
- Experience assisting with technical work instructions related to environmental testing.
- Understanding of quality management systems such as AS9100.
- Excellent manual dexterity; able to handle small parts such as fasteners as small as #0‑80.
- Experience using electronics equipment (DMMs, power supplies, DAQs).
- Strong technical capability and mechanical inclination.
- Experience working in an aerospace cleanroom environment (preferred).
- Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously.
- Effective communication and attention to detail.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- High standard of quality workmanship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Compliance with U.S. export control laws.
