JOB SUMMARY

Will provide broad range management and technical support for all site EHS programs with a focus on ergonomic program development and implementation, and general EHS oversight for a cleanroom medical device manufacturing site with ~500 employees.

Leads, develops, and executes programs and processes that accomplish short and long-term strategies and goals. This includes systematically identifying, prioritizing, and managing EHS risks and pursuing continual improvement through Lean methodologies. It is the responsibility of this position to fully understand internal and external stakeholder needs, applicable requirements, options for solutions, and communicate those options in a succinct business manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Develop and implement plans and procedures to comply with applicable local, state, federal, and international regulations. Modifies, updates, and executes established programs to achieve and maintain a state of compliance.
  • Leads ergonomic risk assessments and implement site-wide ergonomic improvement programs.
  • Partners with production teams to integrate ergonomic and safety considerations into manual and semi-automated work cells. This include leading associated projects with responsibilities such as planning, scheduling, reporting, and cost control.
  • Audits vendors, facilities, and operations relative to Sustainability & EHS requirements.
  • Develops and maintains systems for tracking projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participates as a key member of EHS cross-functional teams, which provide local regulatory interpretation of environmental, occupational safety, and hazardous materials transportation requirements and advises the site organization on new requirements and their impacts.
  • Assists customers, employees, and public emergency response personnel with situations involving company products or hazardous materials.
  • Collects, analyzes and presents data to various levels within the organization. Uses data to focus control resources and efforts.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads Sustainability and EHS programs/projects and provide work instructions to other technical resources.
  • May develop and justify Corporate Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs).
  • May represent the organization and present the company's position when interacting with representatives of regulatory agencies during inspections and other compliance activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Masters Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
Experience

Minimum 10 years EHS experience in clean room manufacturing or food manufacturing environment.

Skills
  • Ensures that the programs in the area of expertise are maintained and comply with US corporate guidelines.
  • Proactively contributes as a member of the regional regulatory compliance team.
  • Requires ability to apply process improvement methodologies to EHS programs, to demonstrate measureable, continual improvement, and to meet multiple stakeholder needs.
