We are seeking a client‑focused Associate Underwriter with experience in Personal Lines Insurance. The ideal candidate will excel in providing superior underwriting and account support while thriving in a high‑volume environment. Key Responsibilities- Underwriting Support:
Assist brokers and underwriters with both new business and renewals, ensuring a smooth process. - Risk Assessment & Policy Evaluation:
Review insurance applications for completeness and accuracy, analyze risk factors such as location, claims history, and property details, and determine eligibility for coverage based on underwriting guidelines. - Pricing & Coverage Decisions:
Recommend appropriate coverage levels and premium rates, apply rating systems and underwriting software to calculate costs, and suggest policy modifications when necessary to align with risk tolerance. - Relationship Building:
Develop strong working relationships with insurance carriers and agents to enhance collaboration. - Account Service:
Handle day‑to‑day account service activities, including inquiries, endorsements, and issue resolution in a timely manner. - Team Support:
Collaborate with the Service Team on functions such as quote processing, binding follow‑ups, inspections, and policy issuance. - System Proficiency:
Accurately perform tasks in our agency management system, upholding our service level standards. - Additional Duties:
Undertake other assigned tasks to support team objectives.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in Personal Lines experience preferred. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Communication
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey professionalism both internally and externally. - Detail‑Oriented:
Resourceful, with critical thinking abilities and meticulous attention to detail. - Organizational
Skills:
Highly organized, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously. - Positive Attitude:
Ability to engage positively with various office personalities. - Adaptability:
Flexible to changes in processes and procedures. - Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of AIM and Image right beneficial but not required. - Team Player:
Reliable, values collaboration and accountability. - Licensing:
Holds an active Property and Casualty Producer License. - Availability:
Willingness to work regular core hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on a hybrid basis after the probationary period.
