AI​/ML Engineer; Clearance Required

Overview

Lockheed Martin Space seeks a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to join a cross‑functional team of experts in research, data science, software development, physics, and mathematics. The engineer will leverage cutting‑edge AI/ML tools and techniques to tackle the most complex challenges in space, supporting national security and advancing the company’s space domain strategy.

• Develop and deploy AI/ML models to solve complex space engineering problems.
• Collaborate with research, physics, mathematics, and software development teams across the organization.
• Contribute to the development of AI strategy and the integration of AI/ML solutions into space domain products.

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).
• Advanced experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Image Processing.
• Experience with modern software development tools and practices.
• TS/SCI clearance required to start.

• Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, C#, or MATLAB.
• Experience with Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with RF, SAR, or EO image processing algorithms/techniques.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud computing platform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment.

This position requires a government security clearance; the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. TS/SCI clearance is required to start the role.

Annual base salary range (excluded major metropolitan areas): $89,300 – $157,435. Additional state‑specific PTO and vacation policies apply.
