Overview
Lockheed Martin Space seeks a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to join a cross‑functional team of experts in research, data science, software development, physics, and mathematics. The engineer will leverage cutting‑edge AI/ML tools and techniques to tackle the most complex challenges in space, supporting national security and advancing the company’s space domain strategy.
Responsibilities- Develop and deploy AI/ML models to solve complex space engineering problems.
- Collaborate with research, physics, mathematics, and software development teams across the organization.
- Contribute to the development of AI strategy and the integration of AI/ML solutions into space domain products.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).
- Advanced experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Image Processing.
- Experience with modern software development tools and practices.
- TS/SCI clearance required to start.
- Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, C#, or MATLAB.
- Experience with Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience with RF, SAR, or EO image processing algorithms/techniques.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud computing platform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment.
This position requires a government security clearance; the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. TS/SCI clearance is required to start the role.
Benefits & CompensationAnnual base salary range (excluded major metropolitan areas): $89,300 – $157,435. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Additional state‑specific PTO and vacation policies apply.
