Job Description Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.

Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.

About the Role:

Come join the growing Theater Strike Weapon System program portfolio, including Conventional Prompt Strike, Hypersonic Weapon Systems, Advanced Glide Systems, Hypersonic Payload Delivery systems, and other new and dynamic programs. In this role as a GNC engineer, you may be involved in many of the following activities:
• Apply missile guidance, navigation, and control expertise to algorithm development, signal and data processing, modeling, and simulation
• Integrate Matlab/Simulink models into a 6-DOF C++ simulation
• Develop high fidelity models and simulation software
• Develop new source code in C++ and Python
• Modify code in C++, C, Matlab, Simulink, Fortran, Python, Linux shell, and YAML
• Create unit tests
• Implement simulation software on a high performance computing cluster including Linux systems or VMs
• Work in an Agile Dev Ops environment with Docker/Container and Kubernetes deployment
• Collaborate with the performance critical thinkers, Flight Software team, and customer

Basic Qualifications Skill Requirements:
• Experience with software, simulation and programming tools (ex. MATLAB/Simulink, Fortran, C++, Python etc.)
• Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and/or coordinate transformation.
• Proven experience in the design, integration, qualification, verification, or validation of GNC algorithms in project or professional experience.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams by leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize schedules and tasking to accomplish multiple goals in a fixed time period
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
