Silver Sneakers (Certified) Fitness Instructor (Part-Time)
Location: South Suburban Park and Recreation District
Salary: $24.15 - $27.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Tuesdays 10:00-11:00 am, Fridays 9:00-11:15 am (substitution opportunities available)
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a highly motivated Silver Sneakers Fitness Instructor with a passion for helping active older adults improve their lives through health and fitness.
Responsible for designing, implementing and leading safe, effective and enjoyable group fitness classes for recreation center participants of various fitness levels.
Ideal Candidate- Current Group Fitness Certification and Silver Sneakers Certification
- Prior experience in instruction of specific specialty and experience working with older adults
- First Aid certification preferred
- Understanding of exercise science, nutrition and wellness to promote fitness and educate participants
- Effective communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of fitness programming
- At least 18 years of age
- High school graduation or GED completion
- Current Group Fitness Certification from an accepted national certifying organization, maintained through Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) as required
- Current CPR/AED certification required

Our mission is to foster healthy living through stewardship of the environment, parks, trails, and open space by providing recreational services and programs.
We serve residents in Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Centennial west of I‑25, Littleton, Lone Tree and Sheridan and unincorporated portions of Douglas, Jefferson and Arapahoe counties. We operate four full-service recreation centers, golf courses, outdoor pools and restaurants, two ice centers and miniature golf courses, a botanical garden event center, a BMX track, a sports dome, batting cages, an entertainment center, a hotel and a nature center.
In addition, we maintain nearly 3,800 acres of developed and open space land, including 119 multipurpose athletic fields, more than 100 parks, nearly 80 miles of trails, 60 playgrounds, 56 tennis courts, and the 880‑acre South Platte Park.
