The Position Summary is the following:
The Planner is responsible for capacity planning, material planning, and production planning and scheduling with the objective of delivering Mevion products in a timely and efficient manner. This role serves as a key link between operations, supply chain, engineering, and quality to ensure that resources, materials, and production capacity are effectively aligned with customer demand. The Planner will proactively anticipate constraints, recommend solutions, and drive execution of production schedules to support on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
In addition to day-to-day planning responsibilities, the Planner plays a vital role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing planning processes, and contributing to the overall success of Mevion’s manufacturing strategy.
- Creating and maintaining weekly scheduling metrics.
- Developing schedules for machine and person and material (raw materials, components, and outside services) based upon capacity and resources, to execute to plan.
- Scheduling projects and prioritizing work to be performed to best meet stipulated requirements.
- Alert Operations management of forecasted changes and impacts to labor requirements, if any.
- Effectively review capacity data and mitigate and/or expedite schedule changes as needed.
- Coordinate material/product release based on timelines.
- Confirm the availability of staffing resources needed for the jobs to be executed and schedule accordingly.
- Work across departments to ensure that materials are on plan to meet requirements.
- Other assignments by the manager.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of planning experience.
- Experience in medical devices in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP systems required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Project, and Excel, or Google G-suite
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions regarding priorities.
- Ability to influence and guide the work of others.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced multiple priority environment.
- Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Required use of standard office equipment including laptop, phone, copier, etc.
- Typical office environment.
- Must be able to walk safely on the production floor.
