PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state

• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU, recovery room, or critical care nursing experience

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
PACU RN Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures

• Assess patient status, recognize complications, and provide timely interventions

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians

• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, recovery, and discharge instructions
