Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMFull-Time, Onsite, Temporary-to-Hire We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Livermore. This position will support inventory and production costing, analyze manufacturing variances, assist with month-end close, and help maintain accurate financial reporting.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in a standard-cost manufacturing environment who enjoys working with financial data and partnering with operations, procurement, and finance teams.

What You'll Be Responsible For
• Support the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and manufacturing cost data
• Maintain and update standard material costs and analyze cost trends and variances
• Analyze inventory activity and identify unusual transactions or discrepancies
• Assist with evaluating labor and overhead rates to support accurate product costing
• Monitor inventory absorption and assist with evaluating inventory reserve requirements
• Review work-in-process inventory, job closures, and manufacturing variances
• Support cycle counts, physical inventory activities, inventory audits, and reconciliations
• Prepare cost accounting journal entries and reconcile inventory balances to the general ledger
• Support month-end close activities and account reconciliations
• Assist with gross margin and inventory reporting
• Participate in internal control and compliance-related activities
• Partner with accounting, procurement, and operations teams to resolve costing and inventory discrepancies
• Support process improvements related to cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting

To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring
• 2+ years of cost accounting experience within a standard-cost manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and cost analysis
• Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience reviewing material costs, inventory transactions, and production-related financial data
• ERP system experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across accounting, procurement, and operations teams
• Oracle ERP experience preferred
