Collins Aerospace is looking for you to join our team in Bohemia, NY as a Radio Field Service Technician to support our Commercial Aviation and Network Services Division. In this role you will have the opportunity to work in an environment where customer service is held in the highest regard.

- Install, maintain, test, adjust, and repair communication equipment such as radio and antenna systems.
- Utilize test equipment as required to perform proper installation or repair.
- Interact with customers, vendors, and contractors independently and professionally in support of maintenance and installation activities.
- Provide on‑job training. Provide 24/7 support, so you will be on‑call after hours, on weekends and holidays. Travel will be required up to 50%.
- Obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator’s License (GROL) within 6 months of hiring.
- Obtain and maintain SIDA badging for access to certain Federal regulated areas of the airport; this includes Security Threat Assessment (STA) and a fingerprint‑based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and SIDA training.
- Lift and carry fifty (50) pounds and climb towers and stepped poles up to fifty (50) feet in height.
- Assist in Facilities and EH&S tasks.
- Support our nationwide Air‑to‑Ground voice and data networks and our custom communication solutions.
- Gain experience and knowledge to be at the forefront of ensuring the operational viability of these critical communication systems.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Completed a course in Practical Electronics at a technological school, junior college, or equivalent, or have a minimum of two years of Practical Electronics experience.
- Active FCC General Radiotelephone Operator’s License (GROL).
- Experience in fault isolation, restoration, and adjustment of company communications equipment.
- Experience analyzing system failures and identifying and restoring equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Experience performing testing, repair, and replacement at the component (piece part) and board level.
- Prior experience reading and following technical manuals/instructions and basic knowledge of how to read schematics and drawings.
