Job Description

Solves All Engineering is a small general contractor out of Oakdale. Most of our work is public works for cities and park districts, and no two jobs are the same. Right now we’re:

• Renovating a public concrete stairway in Santa Cruz: concrete repair, aluminum nosings, and tile
• Building a stone-veneer monument sign at a transit center
• Bidding public works jobs like replacing gazebos

We also do masonry, concrete, and site work.

We need a foreman who can take a set of plans and run the job from start to finish. You’ll lead a small crew, keep the work moving, and work alongside them.

What You’ll Do

• Run the job day to day and keep a 2–3 person crew productive and safe
• Read plans and specs, lay out work, and figure out the sequence before the crew shows up
• Work hands-on in:
• • Concrete: forming, placing, finishing, and patch/repair
  • Masonry: block, brick, and stone veneer
  • Tile
  • Framing and finish carpentry
  • Light site work
• Keep daily reports, track hours and materials, and take progress photos
• Plan material orders and lead times so we’re not waiting on stuff
• Keep the site clean and buttoned up. A lot of our jobs are in public spaces with people walking through.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years in general construction, with time across several trades
• Experience running crews or leading jobs
• Strong in concrete and masonry; framing and tile are a big plus
• Can read plans and specs and catch problems before they become problems
• Comfortable talking with inspectors and engineers
• Valid CA driver’s license, clean enough to insure, and comfortable towing a trailer
• Shows up on time and doesn’t need to be babysat
• Willing to travel for jobs (Bay Area, Santa Cruz, Auburn, etc.)

Nice to Have

• Public works or prevailing wage experience, including certified payroll, submittals, and RFIs
• OSHA 10 or 30
• Can run a mini excavator or skid steer
• Waterproofing, sealants, or specialty finishes
• Bilingual English/Spanish
