Overview

Golf Coach position with responsibilities spanning program organization, coaching, staff supervision, and compliance with athletic policies. The role emphasizes athletic development, character education, and ongoing professional growth.

• Has a thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by LVJUSD and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.
• Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements and interprets them for staff.
• Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels; is aware of all meetings requiring attendance.
• Directs the administration and supervision of the athletic program to ensure programs run smoothly and safely.

• Established the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff; designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings to ensure staff awareness of the overall program.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth by promoting attendance at local clinics.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation and, at season 0end, analyzes staff effectiveness and evaluates all assistants.
• Maintains discipline, handles grievances, and works to increase morale and cooperation.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the athletic director/principal.

• Assists the athletic director in scheduling, transportation, and requirements for tournaments and special sport events.
• Assists in preparations to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times; coordinates with maintenance and school staff.
• Provides documentation to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
• Provides safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment and sites; advises the athletic director on policy or procedural changes.

• Serves as a mentor to athletes to promote character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Monitors student athletes grades and conduct; provides guidance and safeguards for participants during practices, games, and travel.
• Informs athletes of training rules and sport-specific regulations; initiates programs for injuries, medical attention and emergencies; completes injury paperwork within 24 hours.
• Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians; determines discipline and communicates with parents regarding eligibility.
• Assists athletes in college or post-secondary educational planning.

• Participates in budgeting with the athletic director by establishing requirements for the next season; advises on equipment guidelines and remains within budget.
• Is accountable for all equipment; collects costs for lost or unreplaced items; arranges issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment with annual inventory records.
• Marks and identifies equipment; monitors equipment rooms and coaches offices; restricts access as needed; maintains facility cleanliness and safety of equipment.
• Secures all doors, lights, and locks when leaving the building and instills respect for equipment and school property.

• Organizes preseason meetings for parents, coaches and players; promotes the sport within the school and externally; maintains relations with media, booster clubs, parents, officials, volunteers and fans.
• Coordinates information releases to local media and oversees the quality and accuracy of communications.
