Due to impressive growth, our client, a well established firm of accountants is looking to appoint a Part Qualified candidate with at least 2 years of experience in accountancy, ideally within a practice environment. Applicants should be fully AAT qualified to Level 4 or studying for ACCA.
You will be confident with accounts preparation for a variety of clients from sole traders to limited companies with knowledge of tax calculations as well as bookkeeping and VAT Returns. You will be computer literate and able to work well in a team, have excellent communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. We would also consider applications from QBE candidates who have recent experience of working in a practice environment.

Responsibilities- Advanced bookkeeping
- Preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Preparation of corporation tax returns
- Bank reconciliations
- PAYE and VAT reconciliations
- Fixed asset registers and depreciation
- Accruals and prepayments
- Submitting VAT returns to HMRC
- Year-end journals
- Payroll
- Liaising with senior management on workload and upcoming deadlines
- Minimum of 24 months at a firm of accountants (desirable)
- Relevant qualification such as AAT, Part Qualified ACCA (or QBE)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Professional and well presented
- Salary £18k – £30k depending on level of experience
- Hours 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, although hours may vary in line with business need
