Pain Clinic Patient Pathway Co-ordinator Band 3 Job overview
To manage and monitor waiting lists to ensure that procedures are carried out within specified Government targets and locally agreed clinical protocols. To provide and maintain an efficient and effective administrative service, undertaking a range of administrative duties in line with local policies and procedures. Assist in the smooth running of the Pain Service ensuring patients are dealt with in an efficient manner, whilst adhering to Trust policies at all times.
Mainduties of the job
Waiting List Management Duties
- Coordinate and monitor waiting lists.
- Produce accurate waiting time information on a weekly basis, ensuring no outliers to the targets.
- Produce accurate work at speed on a daily basis.
General/Administrative Duties
- Provide and maintain an efficient and effective administrative service.
- Answer telephone enquiries, update computer databases, file, handle case note requests and preparation.
- Deal effectively with mail, redirecting where necessary.
- Prioritise and organise own workload daily.
- Suggest changes in practice to local systems and processes to ensure the service is efficient and effective.
- Assist in training and supervision of new staff while carrying out own duties.
- Undertake reception duties, greet and register patients, answer telephone, and deal efficiently with hospital staff and visitors.
- Maintain professional standards in appearance, behaviour and punctuality.
Communication with Pain Patients regarding upcoming appointments or theatre procedures to reduce DNA rate and improve utilisation.
Systems and Equipment- Use of computer equipment, Microsoft software packages and other appropriate software applications.
- Use of e-mail.
- Use of photocopier, scanner, printers.
- RSAII or equivalent
- Have demonstrable experience and knowledge of service improvement systems.
- A good working knowledge of computers and software packages/ECDL.
- Understanding of a broad range of administrative processes.
- Able to demonstrate and understanding of a wide range of local hospitals systems, processes and policies.
- Good basic numeracy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate at all levels.
- Should be able to present data and information in a useful and understandable format.
