At System C, we build technology that connects and transforms health and care outcomes. Procurement plays a vital role in enabling this mission by ensuring we work with the right suppliers, on the right terms, at the right time.

We are looking for a Senior Category Specialist, known internally as Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Group Procurement team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys owning end‑to‑end sourcing activity, partnering closely with stakeholders and applying commercial judgement in a fast‑moving, technology‑led environment.

The role

Reporting to the Group Procurement and Sustainability Manager, you will lead procurement activity across a portfolio of technology and services spend. You will work in close partnership with spend owners to define requirements, challenge requests where appropriate and deliver compliant, value‑driven sourcing outcomes.

What you will be doing
  • Leading end‑to‑end procurement and sourcing activity across renewals and new deals, including software and SaaS, cloud and hosting, IT services and professional services.
  • Partnering with spend owners to shape requirements, engage the market and ensure Procurement is involved at the right stage.
  • Leading commercial negotiations alongside Legal, covering pricing models, renewals, contractual obligations and exit arrangements.
  • Managing a clear pipeline of contracts and renewals, prioritising work and keeping activity on track.
  • Applying Delegation of Authority and ensuring third‑party spend over £25k is reviewed for pricing, governance and compliance.
  • Ensuring procurement activity complies with internal policies, controls and governance requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings, supplier rationalisation and process improvement.
  • Supporting effective supplier performance management through proportionate review frameworks and clear KPIs.
  • Working with Compliance to identify and manage supplier risk, including information security, data protection, financial stability and business continuity.
  • Supporting sustainable, ethical and transparent procurement in line with System C policy.
What you will bring
  • Solid experience owning end‑to‑end procurement and negotiation, with technology, SaaS or services experience strongly preferred.
  • A track record of delivering commercial value through renewals and competitive sourcing.
  • Confidence working with pricing models such as licensing, SaaS and consumption‑based pricing.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and present clear recommendations.
  • A detail‑focused, process‑driven approach and confidence using Microsoft 365 and P2P systems.

You will join a values‑led organisation where procurement is recognised as a strategic partner. We offer flexible benefits, development opportunities and the chance to make a genuine impact in health and care.

Apply today to join a team that values ownership, collaboration and doing the right thing.

At System C, we believe great work happens when flexibility and collaboration come together. All our roles are offered on a hybrid basis, with colleagues spending a minimum of two days each week in the office to connect, create, and grow together. (Excludes field‑based roles).

We prioritise transparency in our job requirements and selection criteria, ensuring they are based solely on the essentials needed for effective job performance. We consciously avoid assumptions that could skew our perception of a candidate’s suitability for hire.

Our recruitment practices are designed to ensure that no applicant is unfairly disadvantaged by procedures or requirements that disproportionately affect protected groups without being essential for the job.

For every position, we develop a detailed job description and person specification. This approach maintains our focus on the true demands of the role and the skills, experience, and qualifications necessary. During interviews, we involve multiple interviewers where possible to further mitigate unintentional bias, thereby promoting a fair and equitable hiring process.
