Governance, Fraud & Investigations Manager

Contract: Minimum initial 6-month assignment

Location: Flexible UK location - Minimum 1 day per week in London

Salary: £500-700 per day, inside IR35

Eligibility: Full UK right to work required (no sponsorship available)

Hanami International has been exclusively retained to identify an experienced Governance, Fraud & Investigations Manager for a world-leading organisation.

This high-profile contract opportunity offers the chance to operate at the heart of a complex global business, supporting critical governance initiatives and leading investigations into matters that could impact organisational integrity, reputation, and operational resilience.

Working within a highly respected governance function, you will engage with senior stakeholders across the business, providing expert insight, challenge, and guidance on sensitive matters while helping to drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct.

The Opportunity

This is a role for a seasoned professional who is comfortable operating in complex and often ambiguous environments. You'll be trusted to assess and manage sensitive cases, navigate competing stakeholder interests, and deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations that support better decision-making and stronger business controls.

You'll work on a varied portfolio of matters spanning governance, fraud risk, misconduct, regulatory concerns, and business integrity issues, partnering with leaders across multiple functions to help protect and strengthen the organisation's control environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading complex reviews and investigations involving allegations of misconduct, fraud, policy breaches, and other business integrity matters.
  • Conducting detailed fact-finding, evidence analysis, and stakeholder engagement to establish findings and assess organisational impact.
  • Providing expert advice and challenge on sensitive governance, compliance, and risk-related issues.
  • Identifying root causes, emerging trends, and opportunities to strengthen controls, processes, and risk management practices.
  • Producing high-quality reports and executive briefings that translate complex findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Presenting conclusions and insights to senior leadership teams and governance forums.
  • Partnering with a broad range of stakeholders to support effective issue resolution and drive positive outcomes.
  • Managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work within demanding timelines.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the development of best practice across governance and investigations activities.
About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who bring a strong blend of governance, assurance, fraud risk, investigations, or compliance experience gained within large, complex organisations or consulting environments.

You will likely offer:

  • A background in internal audit, risk management, compliance, investigations, financial crime, governance, or a related assurance discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, internal controls, fraud risk management, and organisational ethics.
  • Experience conducting investigations or managing sensitive and confidential matters requiring balanced judgement and discretion.
  • The ability to evaluate complex information, identify key risks, and develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • A track record of successfully engaging and influencing senior stakeholders without direct operational authority.
