Hours of work:
Full-time - 35 hours per week.

Tenure:
Fixed term up to 3 years with the possibility of extension.

The opportunity

You will play a central role in the effective operation, supporting the lab’s research projects, people, partnerships and public profile. Working closely with the Lab Director, researchers and external partners, you will coordinate projects, events, communications, finances, research administration and day-to-day laboratory activities.

You will help ensure that projects are delivered effectively, funding opportunities are supported, events are professionally organised, and the Lab is represented confidently at meetings and public engagements in the UK and internationally.

About you

We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and self-directed professional with strong experience in project coordination, administration and stakeholder engagement. This is a professional-services role and does not require technical expertise in robotics or AI.

You will have:
  • Previous experience in project management and coordinating meetings, workshops, conferences or public events.
  • Strong organisational, financial administration and reporting skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting researchers, students or multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to contribute to grant applications, project bids and formal reports.
  • Experience using modern digital and AI tools to support administrative and operational tasks.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel and represent the Lab at meetings and events across the UK, Europe and internationally.

The role will be based at the School of Computer Science and Informatics, working closely with Dr. Anh Nguyen and Dr. Baoru Huang. You will collaborate with academic and professional-services colleagues across different Schools, Faculties and University offices, as well as project partners, funders, industry stakeholders and research institutions across the UK, Europe and internationally.
