Position Overview
The Property and Campus Services department is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for the Design Group on a 2-year fixed-term contract. The role provides professional Quantity Surveying services and cost/commercial management expertise for construction projects across the University’s diverse estate and campuses, including building refurbishment and improvement, major repairs/maintenance, and mechanical and electrical alterations. The consultant will work on minor/major capital projects and revenue works within a value band of approximately £25k to £10m, ensuring delivery to agreed programme, budget and quality standards.
This position reports to the Head of Design Group.
The Quantity Surveyor will:
- Provide professional Quantity Surveying services and cost/commercial management for construction projects.
- Manage work across the University’s estate and campuses, covering building refurbishment, major repairs, maintenance, mechanical and electrical alterations.
- Deliver projects and works to the agreed programme, budget, and quality, working to recognised standards.
A Degree in Quantity Surveying and suitable experience in a comparable role is required. This position is advertised on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with a requirement to work 35 hours per week and to be office based a minimum of 3 days per week.
