An award-winning national contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Liverpool team. The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors and is recognised for its strong culture and exceptional staff retention. Employing approximately 50 staff, the majority of employees have been with the company for over five years, reflecting the stability and positive working environment they have created.
Delivering projects valued up to £5m, the contractor operates across healthcare, education, industrial, aviation, leisure, fit-out, refurbishment, and general construction sectors, securing a significant volume of repeat business through long-standing client relationships and consistently high standards of delivery.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring schemes are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent client and supply chain relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Full commercial management of projects valued up to £5m
* Procurement and management of subcontract packages
* Preparation of cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
* Submission and agreement of valuations
* Management of variations and change control
* Negotiation and agreement of final accounts
* Contract administration and risk management
* Commercial support to operational teams
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
* Identifying opportunities to maximise project profitability
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
* Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out, or general construction projects
* Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge
* Sound understanding of both NEC and JCT forms of contract
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
