Estimator, Construction, Civil Engineering

Location: Merseyside

An established and highly successful Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join its growing commercial team.

Operating across a diverse portfolio, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering quality schemes for both public and private sector clients. The company has a strong order book and a long-standing client base, with projects typically valued up to £2m-£3m

The Role
Reporting into the pre-construction team, you will be responsible for managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission.

Key duties will include:

Reviewing tender documentation and specifications
Producing accurate cost estimates and pricing schedules
Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
Conducting site visits where required
Identifying project risks and opportunities
Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation
Working closely with operational and commercial teams during bid stages
Assisting with negotiations and value engineering opportunities

The Person

We are keen to speak with Estimators who have experience within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Highways, Groundworks or general Construction environments
You will ideally possess:

Previous estimating experience within Construction or Civil Engineering
Strong Commercial awareness
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
A proactive and organised approach to managing multiple tenders
Specific estimating software experience is not essential, as the business is open to candidates from a variety of estimating background
