Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in housing groundworks to join their commercial and pre-construction team based in Huyton. You will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tenders for residential groundworks and infrastructure packages. Responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for housing groundworks projects Pricing roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, external works, and infrastructure packages Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Producing accurate take-offs for labour, plant, materials, and subcontract works Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities Liaising with clients, engineers, and operational teams throughout the tender process Managing multiple tenders and meeting strict submission deadlines Maintaining estimating records, cost databases, and supplier information Assisting with handovers to commercial and delivery teams following project awards What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within housing groundworks or civil engineering Strong knowledge of residential infrastructure packages including roads, sewers, and drainage Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel Experience working with national or regional house builders preferred Full UK driving licence HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Civil Engineering desirable What you get in return:
