Liverpool Philharmonic Youth OrchestraLiverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is the flagship orchestra of the Youth Company, offering advanced young musicians orchestral experience. Guest conductors include the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and other international musicians.
- Ages: 12–21
- Standard: Grade 7+ (or equivalent)
- Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Harp, Piano, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion
- Audition required: Yes – see prospectus
- Rehearsals: Sundays during term time, 10:00–13:30
The Youth Academy Orchestra is an introductory ensemble for first-time orchestra players, with a diverse repertoire ranging from classical to show tunes.
- Age: 10–18
- Standard: Grade 4+ (or equivalent)
- Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, Piano, Harp
- Audition required: No
- Rehearsals: Sundays during term time, 17:30–20:00
Designed for musicians between Grade 2–4, the Training Orchestra develops ensemble skills and offers rehearsal opportunities with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

- Standard: Grade 2+ (or equivalent)
- Instrumentation: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Tenor Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, Piano, Harp

Performs pop and jazz originals, offering an environment for musicians interested in composition and arranging.

- Instrumentation: Vocalists, Keyboards, Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Double Bass, Drum Kit, Percussion, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Soprano Saxophone, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Viola, Cello
- Standard: High competency; grades not required
- Audition required: Yes – present a piece from choral, classical, folk or musical‑theatre genres
- Rehearsals: Tuesdays during term time, 18:30–21:00
Offers a challenging repertoire for brass and percussion musicians.
- Age: 8–21
- Standard: Grade 5+ (or equivalent)
- Instrumentation: Soprano Cornet, Cornet, Flugelhorn, Baritone, Tenor Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, E‑flat Bass, B‑flat Bass, Percussion, Drum Kit
- Audition required: Yes – consult prospectus
- Rehearsals: Wednesdays during term time, 19:00–21:00
Flagship choir for singers aged 14–19, performing a varied repertoire including classical, jazz and contemporary works.
- Age: 14–19
- Grade: Intermediate choral singing
- Audition required: Yes – see prospectus
- Rehearsals: Mondays during term time (excluding bank holidays), 18:30–21:00
Supports singers in years 7 and 8 transitioning from children’s choirs to the flagship choir, focusing on vocal technique and repertoire development.
- Age: Years 7 and 8
- Standard: Some previous experience; must read music
- Audition required: Yes – present a suitable piece
- Rehearsals: Mondays during term time, 18:00–20:00
Non‑auditioned choir for school years 5 and 6, focusing on choral development and performance experience.
