Aboutthe role
The Journalism Department is seeking an enthusiastic and talented senior lecturer to replace a longstanding team member upon their retirement in August 2026. We have a well‑established, international reputation for delivering high‑quality journalism and sports journalism programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are looking for a teacher who can lead both practical sessions and academic modules that consider journalism theory and explore contemporary debates in journalism around representation, ethics and the impact of technology.
Keyresponsibilities
Teach across our journalism and sports journalism courses, developing and delivering practical sessions and academic modules that integrate theory and contemporary media practice.
Required qualificationsStrong background in journalism, with either substantial experience teaching journalism and/or sports journalism, or substantial relevant professional experience as a practicing journalist combined with a proven commitment to education and training in an industry context. Knowledge of the NCTJ would also be an advantage.
