Dental Technician

Job Overview

Prosthetics Dental Technician for the University Dental Hospital of Liverpool.
Applications are invited from Dental Technicians fully registered with the General Dental Council, including experience from commercial dental laboratories or NHS hospital settings.

• Design, construct and repair custom-made dental appliances based on prescriptions.
• Ensure all appliances meet clinical, aesthetic and functional standards and adhere to infection control protocols and regulations.
• Work both analogue and digital production processes across laboratory departments.
• Provide direct clinical support such as shade matching, appliance fitting consultations and technical troubleshooting.
• Participate in quality assurance processes, clinical governance and continuing professional development.
• Assist day‑to‑day running of the laboratory and support clinical and nursing staff with collection of completed work.
• Maintain equipment, report failures/malfunction, and keep work areas clean and organised.

• Full registration with the General Dental Council.
• Experience in a broad range of prosthetics techniques and materials.
• Good knowledge and practical experience of prosthetic restorations.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise work within a busy laboratory environment, and work effectively as part of a team.
