Introduction
Applications are invited for a locum consultant ophthalmologist post specialising in glaucoma. The successful candidate will join an established prestigious tertiary service and will also provide general and emergency ophthalmic services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with appropriate training and qualifications. This is a 5.00 PA appointment for up to two years covering a career break. The post is based at the Aintree University Hospital site, which is part of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).
St. Paul's Eye Unit is a vibrant and innovative department. The successful applicant will join a group of over thirty consultants including five clinical academics at consultant level.
Main duties of the job St. Paul's Eye UnitSt. Paul's Eye Unit is a part of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a merger between the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Trust and the Aintree Trust. St. Paul's is located on three sites:
Aintree University Hospital, Royal Liverpool University Hospital and South Liverpool Treatment Centre, Garston. Senior medical staff currently comprises almost thirty substantive consultants including five clinical academics at consultant level, locum consultants, two associate specialists and six specialty doctors. Doctors in training comprise two clinical lecturers, specialist trainees and sub‑specialty fellows.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital & Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
