Salary (FTE): £25,300.81 - £27,421.29, Term Time Only – 40 weeks (£27,598-£29,911 full-time equivalent)

Compensation: £27,598 - £29,911 / year (FTE)

Responsible to: Head of Student Progress

Roles: 2 Permanent Roles with a view to start ASAP

The Role
  • Ensuring adult students are making progress and achieve their targets and personal goals.
  • Enabling progression to higher levels of study or employment/apprenticeships.
  • To be the Advocate for the student.
  • Bridge any gaps in learning.
  • Ensure the pastoral support in place for adult students.
Key Responsibilities
  • To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of college life.
  • To support in the implementation of the student transition programme in partnership with the curriculum teams and ensure that induction provides each student with all the necessary course information and an awareness of where and how to access support to be successful on their course.
  • To support curriculum to ensure that students are enrolled on the correct programme of study through the implementation of a progress reviews and, if appropriate, facilitate transfer to a new programme.
  • Where needed establish small learner groups to support learners in developing the skills to enable successful progression.
  • To establish and maintain electronic individual learning plans for all referred and assigned students.
  • Meet with referred and assigned students for 1:1 Progress Reviews to monitor progress against Minimum Target Grades and attendance and to support students and action plan with them to ensure they achieve or exceed their targets.
  • To identify and make sure that appropriate curriculum interventions are put in place to monitor students who are at “risk.”
  • To facilitate student involvement including the collection of the student voice and feedback to staff and students.
  • Develop an effective and supportive partnership with relevant agencies and NOK (where applicable) to support wellbeing, engagement, achievement, and progression.
  • To attend meetings and events as required and contribute to the improvement of student experience.
  • Take a full part in the sharing of ideas, resources, and good practice with curriculum teams to drive forward improvement to student experience.
  • Establish a purposeful and motivating environment where students feel safe, secure, confident, and valued and accept responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, communication, and respect for others, while challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes, ensuring that all students comply with College’s policies and procedures.
  • To work with the work experience team to support students career ambitions and encourage work/industry experience (change placement to experience).
  • To support curriculum in the accurate capture of destination data.
  • Supporting the completion of UCAS applications and the writing of references.
  • To collaborate with colleagues and address students’ English and Maths and study skills development.
  • To review own professional development needs and to participate fully in future training and development.
  • To contribute to funded projects within schools to strengthen student experience, progress and progression.
  • Support in capturing progression and destination information for adult learners.

  • Help to ensure through good working practices that the objectives, values and aims of IT Services and equipment.
  • To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College Group ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of college life.
  • To take proactive responsibility for Health & Safety to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are always maintained.
