Role

SEN Teaching Assistant – Reception class, Blandford, Dorset. Full‑time, Monday to Friday, £89–£95 per day, immediate start.

  • Support pupils in a Reception class, encouraging participation, independence and confidence.
  • Assist with behaviour support strategies to promote a settled and inclusive classroom.
  • Use positive and consistent approaches to support social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs and developmental stages.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to follow and review IEPs.
  • Observe, monitor and share progress, recognising achievements and supporting next steps.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and adhere to school policies at all times.
What We are Looking For
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within an EYFS setting.
  • Knowledge and hands‑on experience supporting children with ASC or additional needs.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.
  • A relevant qualification (such as NVQ Level
    2) or equivalent practical experience.
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with strong resilience.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, proactive attitude to supporting pupils and staff.
