Role
SEN Teaching Assistant – Reception class, Blandford, Dorset. Full‑time, Monday to Friday, £89–£95 per day, immediate start.
- Support pupils in a Reception class, encouraging participation, independence and confidence.
- Assist with behaviour support strategies to promote a settled and inclusive classroom.
- Use positive and consistent approaches to support social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs and developmental stages.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to follow and review IEPs.
- Observe, monitor and share progress, recognising achievements and supporting next steps.
- Engage in training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and adhere to school policies at all times.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within an EYFS setting.
- Knowledge and hands‑on experience supporting children with ASC or additional needs.
- A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.
- A relevant qualification (such as NVQ Level
2) or equivalent practical experience. - A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with strong resilience.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible, proactive attitude to supporting pupils and staff.
