Curriculum Manager

* Work collaboratively with the Associate Dean (Education and Student Experience) to operationalize Faculty strategy.
* Ensure the efficient and effective management of the approval, monitoring, amendment and review of programmes of the Faculty, working with academic staff, Associate Deans and central University teams.
* Manage and oversee School quality assurance processes including minor modifications to curriculum, module evaluation questionnaires, module selection, continual monitoring and academic misconduct.
* Provide leadership and specialist advice to academic staff and central University colleagues on quality and accreditation requirements for the Faculty’s courses.
* Coordinate the Faculty’s reaccreditation processes, including establishing a schedule of preparatory activities and for the visit, assisting with the production of relevant reports and data, and managing logistical arrangements for panel.
* Oversee the Faculty external examiner and annual monitoring processes and ensure necessary actions are identified and followed up on.
* Collate and analyse relevant data and complete annual reports, surveys and benchmarking exercises, for quality assurance, accreditation and marketing purposes
* Work alongside Directors of Student Experience on the allocation of students to personal supervisors extracting data from SITS, coordinating updates on SITS and necessary student and staff communications
* Ensure the development and maintenance of a library of Faculty-specific Standard Operating Procedures for curriculum management.
* Produce and compile papers, notes and reports for Faculty committees and meetings.
* Provide leadership to a team of School-based Curriculum Administrators. Effectively motivate, coach and manage staff to achieve goals.  Provide clear performance expectations, regular feedback and document performance outcomes, ensuring poor performance is addressed and high performance nurtured and rewarded.
* Support the investigation and resolution of complex course related issues providing advice and support to academic staff and central services colleagues.
* Establish and maintain strong and positive working relationships with key stakeholders within Schools and across the University, to ensure effective support and optimal outcomes for the Faculty.
* Develop and maintain professional knowledge and links with internal and external networks of peers and relevant professional associations
* Support university events such as Open Days, Registration and Enrolment, and Graduation Ceremonies etc
* Provide professional advice and/or support, directly or indirectly, to faculty and/or department based upon a full understanding of a professional or specialised area of work
* Have gained a professional qualification (or are working towards) and/or vocational or professional experience. The role holder will be expected to contribute to longer term developments within the faculty/department by giving advice and specialist support
* Lead a team within the department and plan, prioritise and monitor to ensure effective use of resources
* Influence decisions or events by working collaboratively internally and externally to the University
* Evaluate and analyse information and use initiative and creativity to solve non standard problems
* Fulfil the employees’ duties described in the University’s health and safety policies and co-operate with the health and safety arrangements in place within the department. May be required to undertake specific health and safety roles on request e.g. Display screen equipment assessor, departmental safety officer, fire warden
