Year 1 Teaching Assistant – SEN & Small Group Support | L4 | Long-Term Role

Milk Education is recruiting an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary school in the L4 area. This role is ideal for a confident TA with strong KS1/EYFS experience who enjoys working with SEN pupils and making a real difference in the classroom.

This advert is targeted to attract experienced candidates ready to step straight into a long-term role.

The Role

* Full time: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

* Long-term position with potential to continue

* Year 1 classroom in a welcoming primary school

* Small group intervention and SEN support

* Occasional 1:1 support with SEN pupils

You will support learning, behaviour, and emotional development, helping children access the curriculum and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver small group phonics, literacy and maths support

* Support pupils with special educational needs

* Provide 1:1 support when required

* Adapt work to meet individual learning needs

* Promote positive behaviour and engagement

* Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff

Essential Requirements

* Recent experience supporting children in a school setting

* Experience supporting children with SEN

* KS1 or EYFS classroom experience

* Calm, patient and nurturing approach

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

* Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification
