Desian Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to work in a specialist primary setting in Wigan, supporting pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and supportive school community that places strong emphasis on high expectations, positive relationships, and personalised learning. The role will involve teaching across teaching mixed year 5/6 class of 9 pupils, adapting learning to meet individual needs and supporting pupils' academic, emotional, and social development.

The Role
- Teaching pupils with SEMH needs in Upper KS2
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and consistent classroom environment
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Supporting holistic development, including social and emotional skills
- Working collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience as an SEN Teacher, particularly SEMH, is highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, nurturing approach
- Flexible, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
- Committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential
- A DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain a new DBS)
