About the Role

Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor to deliver GCSE Maths and English lessons on a 1:1 basis for students in the Liverpool area, starting in March 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can adapt their teaching approach to suit the specific needs of each student, helping them improve their academic performance and build confidence in their studies.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalized GCSE Maths and English lessons, tailoring content and pace to each student's needs.

Help students enhance their subject knowledge, improve study techniques, and develop exam confidence.

Create a positive and supportive learning environment, establishing a strong rapport with students.

Regularly monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents, carers, or other professionals as needed.

Prepare structured lesson plans, incorporating a compassionate approach where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.

Desirable Qualifications

QTS or PGCE in Secondary Education.

Experience working with students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Additional Information

Sessions will mainly take place during school hours, with occasional after-school or evening slots available.

Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support, including resources and regular progress tracking.
