The Role

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across secondary schools in Liverpool
. This role is ideal for a confident professional who can support learning, deliver pre-planned lessons and work closely with teachers to raise student attainment.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science and PSHE
, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilitie
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Work with individuals and small groups to support progress
  • Assist with assessment, behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Person Specification

Essential:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting GCSE subjects
  • Knowledge of SEND or intervention strategies
  • Confidence delivering lessons to whole classes
