Year 1 Teaching Assistant – SEN & Small Group Support | L4 | Long-Term Role

Milk Education is recruiting an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary school in the L4 area. This role is ideal for a confident TA with strong KS1/EYFS experience who enjoys working with SEN pupils and making a real difference in the classroom.

This advert is targeted to attract experienced candidates ready to step straight into a long-term role.

• Full time: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
• Long‑term position with potential to continue
• Year 1 classroom in a welcoming primary school
• Small group intervention and SEN support
• Occasional 1:1 support with SEN pupils

You will support learning, behaviour, and emotional development, helping children access the curriculum and build confidence.

• Deliver small group phonics, literacy and maths support
• Support pupils with special educational needs
• Provide 1:1 support when required
• Adapt work to meet individual learning needs
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff

• Recent experience supporting children in a school setting
• Experience supporting children with SEN
• KS1 or EYFS classroom experience
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification
