Teaching and Learning

Plan and deliver creative, engaging and inclusive learning opportunities in line with the EYFS Framework and school curriculum.

Create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence, curiosity and a love of learning.

Maintain high expectations for all pupils’ achievement, behaviour and attitudes to learning.

Use a range of effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and those with EAL.

Support children’s early language, communication, phonics and mathematical development.

Ensure effective assessment, recording and tracking of pupil progress to inform future planning.

Provide children with meaningful feedback that supports their development and next steps in learning.

Organise and maintain an attractive, safe and purposeful indoor and outdoor learning environment.

Promote positive behaviour and relationships in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.

Establish strong routines and high standards of care and wellbeing for all children.

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.

Follow all school safeguarding policies and procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Promote equality, inclusion and diversity within the classroom and wider school community.

Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.

Communicate effectively regarding children’s progress, wellbeing and achievements.

Contribute to transition arrangements and wider school events.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and leaders across the school and Trust.

Participate fully in staff meetings, professional development and school improvement activities.

Uphold and support the Christian ethos and values of Childwall CE Primary School.

Take responsibility for personal professional development and continuous improvement.

Carry out duties and responsibilities in line with school policies and procedures.

Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and Trust.

Support enrichment activities, school events and community engagement opportunities.

Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably directed by the Headteacher.
