Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in South Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and contributing positively to their learning and development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored and accessible learning activities
  • Assist with pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. , Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
