Cover Supervisor – Liverpool

At Engage, we’re working with schools in Liverpool to recruit daily Cover Supervisors who can support on a supply basis to cover planned and unplanned sickness. You can set your own availability each week, so we welcome applications from those available part-time or full-time.

You will be covering lessons across the school to either relieve classroom teachers for PPA time or for general sickness.

• Must have a degree.
• Must have some experience with young people (e.g., supporting workers, youth workers).
• Valid enhanced DBS check required.

• Supervising the students and ensuring they complete set tasks.
• Managing behaviour.
• Assisting pupils when they have questions.
• Following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.
• Collecting the completed work and handing it to the Head of the Department.
• Providing feedback on the lesson and pupils.

• Adaptability and flexibility:
  The ability to quickly adjust to new classrooms, subjects, and teaching styles.
• Classroom management:
  Excellent skills in managing student behaviour and maintaining discipline.
• Communication:
  The ability to convey instructions clearly, engage students, and communicate effectively with other staff.
• Patience and empathy: A compassionate nature to build rapport with students and support their needs.
• Professionalism and confidence: A calm, assertive, and professional presence to guide the class and handle unexpected situations.
• Organisation and reliability:
  Being punctual and organized to manage tasks and keep lessons on track.
