Sports Coach - Primary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Woolton L25, Liverpool
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)
Pay: £14.25 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Sports Coach to join a vibrant and supportive primary school in Woolton from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your enthusiasm for sport and physical activity into a classroom setting, supporting pupils not only with their physical development but also their academic progress and social skills.
You will play a key role in encouraging active learning, promoting healthy lifestyles, and helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and inclusive sports and physical activity sessions across the school
- Support pupils' learning in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, preparation, and classroom management
- Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and participation
- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN
, where required - Help create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Experienced or qualified in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field
- Passionate about inspiring and engaging children through sport and activity
- Confident, proactive, and able to adapt to different classroom situations
- Strong communicators with excellent teamwork and organisational skills
- Experienced working with children (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
This role is ideal for sports graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced coaches looking to transition into education.
