Trainee Teaching Assistant

A primary school located in Toxteth is looking to recruit a Trainee Teaching Assistant for one of their KS1 (Key Stage
1) classrooms. The school is looking to introduce skilled staff from a wide range of backgrounds, so if you are interested in supporting within a school role, please read on!
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant within KS1, you will:
- Support lesson preparation
:
Assist teachers in preparing materials and resources for lessons. - Create a safe and engaging environment
:
Help establish a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere that supports pupils during a critical stage in their primary education. - Classroom assistance
:
Work alongside the class teacher to support pupils during activities, assist with classroom management, and encourage positive behaviour. - Promote learning and independence
:
Help pupils engage with lessons, overcome challenges, and develop their confidence and independence. - Contribute across the curriculum
:
Support pupils in core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science.
- Strong communication skills.
- Enthusiasm and a passion for working with children.
- A commitment to fostering pupil development and achievement.
- Support pupils by ensuring their safety and facilitating their access to learning opportunities.
- Encourage pupils to develop independence, where appropriate.
- Prepare the classroom for lessons and tidy up after.
- Assist in managing pupil behaviour and report any concerns to the teacher.
- Provide support to pupils to help them understand lesson instructions.
- Aid pupils in engaging with the school curriculum (e.g., English, maths, etc.), as directed by the teacher.
- Supervise pupils during lunchtimes.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, particularly regarding safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection. Report any concerns to the relevant individual.
- Working Hours
: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.- Includes a 30-minute welfare duty.
- Eligibility
:
Open to candidates currently studying towards a TA, CACHE, or Childcare qualification. - Pay Rate
: £14.25 – £15.00 per hour.
