Overview
SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Liverpool (L8 & L25)
Teaching Personnel Liverpool are currently seeking dedicated and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistants to support a number of specialist provisions across the Liverpool area, including L8 and L25.
We are working in partnership with several SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools who require full-time support staff to join their teams on a temporary to permanent basis.
RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with KS3 and KS4 pupils who present with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with their learning and develop positive behaviours.
Responsibilities- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour effectively
- Building strong, positive relationships with students
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (preferred)
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Competitive daily rate of £95 – £110 per day
