Overview

The School of Teacher Education and Development at Liverpool Hope University is seeking an experienced colleague to lead and further develop the flagship BA Primary and Early Education undergraduate courses. The role contributes to leadership of the primary phase and supports the university's commitment to inclusion and social justice in the curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the undergraduate provision for BA Primary and Early Education; contribute to teaching professional studies and to teaching across all primary education routes, including undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Serve as a member of the primary phase leadership team; strengthen relationships with schools and the university–school partnership.
  • Ensure the curriculum is ambitious, carefully sequenced, and underpinned by inclusion and social justice.
  • Bring professional expertise from HEI, ITE curriculum development, school leadership, and experience across multiple key stages; contribute to curriculum development and pedagogy for trainee teachers.
  • Support professional development and training; collaborate with colleagues to ensure Liverpool Hope ECTs and graduates are effective, reflective, and informed curriculum shapers of the future.
  • Fulfill duties associated with a permanent role that complements the existing team.
Qualifications and experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Masters degree or equivalent.
  • Significant leadership experience and expertise in primary education; relevant recent experience in HEI, ITE curriculum development, and school leadership.
  • Ability to teach professional studies and across all primary education routes; strong subject knowledge and ability to develop trainee teachers’ pedagogy.
  • Ability to strengthen school partnerships and work effectively with schools.
