Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Biotechnology, Reproductive Science, and Stem Cell Science
Grade: TSR3 (1.0 FTE – full‑time) or TSR4 (0.8 FTE – part‑time). Applicants appointed at TSR3 will be employed on a full‑time basis, while those appointed at TSR4 will be employed on a 0.8 FTE basis.
The School of Natural Sciences within the Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise brings together excellence in biological, chemical, and physical sciences. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in reproductive sciences, assisted reproductive technologies, reproductive endocrinology, and biotechnological applications relevant to healthcare or life sciences industries. Experience that links biotechnology to clinical practice, industry, or innovation will be considered an asset.
As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer the successful candidate will contribute to, and where appropriate lead, the delivery, development and enhancement of our postgraduate provision. The role involves creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, contributing to curriculum design, and ensuring teaching and learning remain responsive to changing scientific, clinical and industrial market demands. The post holder will also offer undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation projects, support engaging teaching methods, and undertake a postgraduate qualification in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education unless they already hold an equivalent qualification or are a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (FHEA).
The successful applicant will join an active, teaching‑focused School with a vibrant research ethos, providing opportunities for collaboration with specialists in animal behaviour, molecular biology, entomology, marine biology, veterinary science, forensic biology, chemical engineering and drug discovery.
We welcome applications from candidates who wish to work on a part‑time basis; appointment level (Lecturer or Senior Lecturer) will be determined according to qualifications and experience. The post holder will report to the Head of School of Natural Sciences.
Location:
Main Chester University campus, accessible to teaching laboratories, preparation rooms, research laboratories and high‑specification seminar and lecture theatre spaces. The campus lies close to the city centre and has excellent facilities for students and staff. We have strong links with Pathways Intermediates, Chester, Shrewsbury and Telford NHS, and Marches Biogas.
