We currently have a vacancy for a Curriculum Director within our Learn Welsh Team, based at our Yale site. Coleg Cambria provides Learn Welsh courses (Learn Welsh North East) on behalf of the National Centre for Welsh Learning, delivering Welsh language classes both in the community and online across various times throughout the day and evening. The Curriculum Director will provide effective management of a defined curriculum department at Coleg Cambria, meeting the needs of learners, partner schools, employers, and other stakeholders.
This includes ensuring the delivery of high‑quality learner outcomes and promoting a culture of excellence, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
- Leadership: act as line manager for direct reports, managing recruitment, induction, development, performance management, and health and safety guidelines.
- Curriculum: deliver learner contact time, including teaching, mentoring, events; engage with learners and stakeholders; develop and deliver efficient curriculum programmes; instigate continuous innovation; liaise with employers and awarding bodies; oversee validation, inspection and monitoring.
- Quality management: lead on curriculum quality standards, self‑assessment, improvement plans; coordinate quality activities; manage risks to college reputation and financial viability.
- Financial: manage department financial and resource budget.
- Personal development: pursue professional development to maintain standards.
- Relevant degree or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification or prepared to work towards one.
- Management qualification or prepared to work towards one.
- Previous experience leading, coaching and inspiring a team.
- Recent experience working within the education sector.
- Welsh skills are essential for this specific post.
