About the Role

We are looking for a Lecturer in Brickwork to join our Construction & Trades team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that enables learners to achieve their full potential and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. You will teach across a range of Brickwork and Construction programmes, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that inspires learners to succeed.

Working closely with colleagues and industry partners, you will contribute to curriculum development, maintain high standards of teaching and assessment, and support students' personal and professional growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator or experienced Brickwork professional looking to share their industry expertise and help shape the next generation of construction workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Brickwork and Construction programmes.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources that meet curriculum requirements and learner needs.
  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
  • Support learners to achieve outstanding outcomes whilst promoting positive behaviour, attendance and engagement.
  • Supervise practical activities within workshop environments, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Embed employability skills and industry best practice into teaching to prepare students for successful careers in the construction sector.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement activities and the ongoing development of the Brickwork provision.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers and external partners to enhance the learner experience.
  • Participate in open evenings, recruitment events, parents' evenings and employer engagement activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and engage in continuous professional development to ensure teaching remains current and relevant.
About You
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Brickwork or a related trade discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Certificate in Education or equivalent).
  • Recent industry experience within the construction sector.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing learners up to Level 3.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from a variety of backgrounds.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
