Position: SEMH Support Assistant *2302302

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant - SEMH Focus

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a caring and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This long-term position is based within a welcoming primary school in Walton (L4) and is due to commence in October 2026
, continuing until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil who is joining the school's new intake. The role will involve offering both academic and social support, helping the child to engage positively with learning and school life.

The Role

The school is seeking an individual with previous SEN experience and a sound understanding of effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies. The pupil follows an individualised education plan (IEP) tailored to their SEMH needs, therefore experience in monitoring progress, maintaining records and providing regular updates is highly desirable.

Working hours are 8:45am to 3:15pm
, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
