Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning?

Teaching Personnel Liverpool is currently recruiting motivated, resilient, and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work within a range of welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary schools across North Liverpool. We are seeking both experienced education professionals and ambitious graduates, particularly those with Psychology degrees, who are looking to gain valuable school-based experience while making a genuine difference to students' lives.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering future careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, youth work, social work, mental health services, or SEND support.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students who require additional help to engage with learning, manage social and emotional challenges, and achieve their full educational potential.

You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and safeguarding professionals to support pupils both academically and socially.

Roles are available supporting students:

• On a dedicated 1:1 basis
• Within small intervention groups
• Across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Inside mainstream classrooms
• During tailored literacy and numeracy interventions
• Through pastoral and emotional wellbeing programmes

You may be supporting students with a variety of needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties
• Attachment difficulties
• Mild to moderate learning needs
• Behavioural challenges requiring additional support and mentoring

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis to access learning opportunities.
• Delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils.
• Assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
• Encouraging student participation, confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Implementing support strategies recommended through EHCPs and support plans.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Building positive relationships with students who may be disengaged from education.
• Supporting transitions between lessons and around the school environment.
• Promoting positive behaviour and acting as a positive role model.
• Working collaboratively with school staff to support student outcomes and wellbeing.
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.

Experienced Learning Support Assistants
