Reception Teaching Assistant

Location: L23 Area, Liverpool
Start Date: September
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm)

Milk Education is recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, two-form entry primary school in the L23 area of Liverpool. This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants or individuals looking to further develop their skills within a supportive Early Years setting.

You will work closely with the Reception class teacher to support children academically, socially, and emotionally during this important stage of their early education.

• Two-form entry primary school rooted in the local community
• Supportive Reception teaching team
• Additional SEN Teaching Assistant support where required
• Collaborative EYFS and senior leadership team

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective EYFS activities and lessons
• Work with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Support children with SEN and additional learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
• Observe and record children’s progress where appropriate
• Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and wider school staff

• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant school-based experience
• Experience working within EYFS or Reception is desirable
• Experience supporting children with SEN is beneficial
• Strong communication and interpersonal skillsA patient, nurturing, and child-centred approach
