New Directions is seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Key Stage 2 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school based in Liverpool. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity to provide individualised support to a pupil in Key Stage 2, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider support team, you will play a key role in creating a positive and nurturing environment where the pupil feels safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed. Through tailored one-to-one support, you will help the child access the curriculum while promoting their academic, social, and emotional development.

The Role
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a KS2 pupil with additional learning needs.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities both in and out of the classroom
  • Support students’ academic progress, social development, emotional wellbeing, and independence
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) or EHCP targets where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENDCO, parents/carers, and external agencies to support individual learning plans and achieve positive outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
  • Has a patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, colleagues, and families
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed both academically and personally
